Archiving and Preservation
Teknomekanik is committed to keeping published articles permanently archived, both independently by administrators and in collaboration with partner organizations.
Article Digital Archive
Local
Teknomekanik has facilities to store published articles. They are stored and backed up on computers, including Teknomekanik's, editor-in-chief's, managing editor's, copy editor's, two portable archive hard disks, and Teknomekanik's google drive and cloud storage in .Docx, and PDF formats. To ensure accessibility, Teknomekanik will gladly change and enhance the digital file formats in accordance to the latest technological standards.
Self-archiving
Teknomekanik supports self-archiving. Teknomekanik permits and encourages authors to make their research visible and accessible to their peers by uploading the final published version in personal or institutional repositories immediately after publication while providing bibliographic details.
Indexing
Teknomekanik abstracting/indexing services keep much essential information about the articles. Additionally, two of our journal abstracting/indexing services archive not only the article metadata, but also the electronic versions of the articles as well. Therefore, copies of the articles are available to the scientific community through their systems as an alternative to the journal.
All published articles are assigned to Digital Object Identifier (DOI)- CrossRef. Teknomekanik saves publications in multiple digital archives around the world to guarantee long-term digital preservation. All articles are permanently archived and available in .Docx, and PDF formats. Teknomekanik makes article metadata available in compliance with Open Archives Initiative protocols which enable automated collecting of our research articles for inclusion in any other digital archives. We support the non-exclusive digital archiving of research articles by as many international archives as possible, to ensure the security and permanent accessibility of that research.
Teknomekanik is an initiative participant of LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe). LOCKSS enables any library to maintain their content archives from Teknomekanik and other publishers easily by using affordable available hardware.
Website archive
Website archive of all Teknomekanik electronic contents (website, manuscripts, etc.) is stored on three different sources. Contents on one server are online and accessible to the readers and are backed up on two other sources. In case of one server failure, one of the other sources can be set online, so the website is expected to be accessible within 24-36 hours.
If Journal Stops Publishing
Teknomekanik intends and expects to publish the journal continuously. If due to some problems, we are forced to stop publishing the journal, the published manuscripts will be kept online and accessible to the readers for at least 10 years ahead. When required under specific conditions, such as discontinuation of the collection or catastrophic failure of the website, the content will be accessible through LOCKSS and CLOCKSS.
The LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system ensures a secure and permanent archive for journal content, and the CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system ensures a secure and permanent archive for the journal.
